Fortunately, I like fruit.
My goal is to try to write everyday (already a day behind!) so here goes; remember I am only a mom so I'm not out changing the World in my tights and cape! We got school done efficiently enough, but still continue to struggle with motivating Sam. He's eleven now and has hit that stage in life where everything requires discussion and convincing - in triplicate. I have come to the conclusion that the government must just a bunch of grown men and women stuck in their eleventh year of life! I love him, oh that's for sure, but some times I pray that God will help me like him; to look behind the "attitude" and see the potential God sees. Some days I see much, others I'm sure I'm going blind.
He's a diamond in the rough.
I got to go out to lunch today with a couple of friends from church and it was so wonderful to just kick back and relax... and laugh hysterically at our shared lives. Thank you so much, God, for the glimpse of Heaven we get when we're hanging out with friends! I didn't want to leave to go contend with Wal Mart, but we do like to eat!! I took Zach with me as a reward for getting up and doing his schoolwork without a word from me. He is one driven 6 year old!
Wal Mart once again reminded me of why I hate shopping there. I think my new motto will be "if Wal Mart is the only place that has it, I don't need it!" We'll leave it there. It's just the kids and I have made our New Year's Resolution to be healthier eating and that is way more expensive than pop tarts, chips, ramen and hotdogs/ baloney. We'll just have to find a way to make it work. Maybe I just need a bailout?
