Last Night of AWANA

This will be short, its late and I'm tired and a little sore. Tonight was the last night of regular AWANA and the kids were wound up to beat the band. I think they had a great time and Laura Hanson did an incredible re-telling of the parable of the Prodigal Son from Luke 15. She is so great at that!

Zach is feeling puny tonight with a fever and he stayed home missing his pizza party for the award of finishing his book. Nothing much, mostly a fever and nothing else that he's complaining about. I hope its not anything more serious than a virus and knowing Zach, he'll probably be up and running around tomorrow like nothing ever happened. Wish I could heal that quickly!

I officially started my "Train for the 5K" today and it went very well. It was so encouraging to not fall over dead on the ol' treadmill. I just need to focus on stretching out the time I actually run - being able to run the whole 5K at once without walking in between miles, which is my goal. I'm going to try to find little rewards to encourage myself. At the moment, I'm pumped!

Nate is trying to fix his coffee grinder, bless his heart. He's so mechanical! He'll succeed but it won't last long, so its a good thing he's got another one on the way!

And the rest of the gang is just getting excited about finishing up school in another week and a half - then summer camp, tennis lessons, all kinds of cool things that the Rec Center offers and FREE LUNCHES!! Oh, life is good.
